Copper crime caught out by new VERIDOT technology

An inventive South African / Australian technology product is at the centre of the fight against a worldwide epidemic of copper theft affecting energy and telecommunications companies among others.

Nancy Strachan, CEO of R.A.S.A. (Recycling Association of South Africa) said that "Authenticable will provide a long term cost effective and sustanable solution to the epidemic of copper cable theft that is sweeping accross the globe."

Crime Stoppers Director for Australia and Crime Stoppers International, Peter Price OAM said: "This is brilliant news. It's great to see new technologies that will help reduce crime."

Holomatrix, best known for its Microdot anti-theft devices for cars, bicycles, coats and security paper, has extended its expertise into industry applications with a new identification system called 'AuthentiCable'.

The product has been jointly developed and patented by Holomatrix Pty Ltd and Data TraceDNA Pty Ltd.
